The mission of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church is to Share God's Love. We believe that God's love is shared abundantly when God's people are the hands, feet and open arms of Jesus. There are many ways we can Share God's Love through volunteering within the congregation, serving our local neighbors, and reaching out to friends across the globe.

ELCA World Hunger Appeal
Holy Trinity works actively to feed the hungry through our partnership with the ELCA Lutheran Hunger Appeal - one of the most efficient and effective hunger organizations in the world. We support this ministry through the mission support we share with the Southeastern Iowa Synod and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Direct gifts are also made. ELCA World Hunger also provides many of the resources we use to learn and teach about the problems of hunger in the world. |
Ankeny Service Center
The Ankeny Service Center (ASC) coordinates human services and referrals for youth, families and seniors of Ankeny and northern Polk County. Holy Trinity partners with ASC on programs that address the needs of the local community. |
Bread for the World
Bread for the World is a collective Christian voice urging our nation’s decision makers to end hunger at home and abroad. By changing policies, programs, and conditions that allow hunger and poverty to persist, we provide help and opportunity at home and far beyond where we live. By making our voices heard in Congress, we make our nation’s laws fairer and more compassionate. We leverage big changes for people in our country and around the world who struggle with hunger. |
Food Bank of Iowa
The Food Bank of Iowa provides food for Iowa children, families, and seniors to lead full and active lives, strengthening the communities where they live. The food bank gathers and distributes nutritious food to partner organizations like the Holy Trinity Food Pantry. |
FreeStore
FreeStore provides household items and furniture free of charge to women who are referred by Iowa domestic violence services. Holy Trinity partners with this mission as a small group. Most of the clients are woman who have left abusive situations, and most of the locations are in the Des Moines metro area. |
Habitat for Humanity
Seeking to put God’s love into action, Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity (GDM Habitat) brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope. GDM Habitat is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian ministry founded on the conviction that every person should have a decent, safe and affordable place to live. We are about building with people in need regardless of race or religion. We welcome volunteers and supporters from all backgrounds. |
Holy Trinity Food Pantry
Holy Trinity Food Pantry is open on Tuesdays, 12:00-6:00 pm, offering food to those in need. It is are a choice pantry meaning that guests choose the desired products, with quantities determined by family size. This institution is an equal opportunity provider. Guests must live north of I-80 or Meredith Drive, east of highway 141 and south of the northern Polk County border, and guests must provide a valid photo ID with current address. Hope Ministries
Hope Ministries believes in a holistic approach to meeting the needs of homeless men, women and children. They provide both emergency, rescue services and long-term life-recovery programs, meant to help individuals and families break the cycles of homelessness, addiction, abuse and poverty. |

IMPACT Community Action Partnership works to eliminate poverty through empowering vulnerable populations, building collaborations, and advocating for social change. |
Iowa Youth Homeless Center
Iowa Homeless Youth Centers (IHYC) works to eliminate homelessness among children, youth, and young families in Central Iowa. |
Kids Hope USA
For over 25 years, Kids Hope USA has provided a proven program through church-school partnerships that train and equip mentors to reach kids in public schools who would benefit from another caring, reliable, 1-on-1 relationship. Mentors, standing alongside teachers and parents, ensure kids that they are not alone. Through the power of relationships, kids build resilience and a brighter future. Love Lunches
Love Lunches is a program funded by the USDA in part to make sure kids in need have food during the summer break. Holy Trinity in one of several congregations in Ankeny helping to organize, distribute and provide this ministry to those who hunger. Luther Park Community
Luther Park Community offers skilled care, assisted living/memory care, and independent living for those 62 or older. Their mission is to provide quality care for persons now in the aging process, including housing and other related facilities necessary to meet the physical, spiritual, social, and psychological needs of such persons in a manner that supports their continued health, security, happiness, and usefulness and otherwise provide for their well-being in keeping with Biblical and Christian principles. |
Lutheran Disaster Response
Lutheran Disaster Response shares God's hope, healing and renewal with people whose lives have been disrupted by disasters in the United States and around the world. When the dust settles and the headlines change, Lutheran Disaster Response stays to provide ongoing assistance to those in need. |
Lutheran Services in Iowa
Through our partnership with the Southeastern Iowa Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, we support a partnership with LSI - the largest and most comprehensive social service agency in the state of Iowa. This work includes adoption and foster care services, refugee support, counseling, respite services, resources for the disabled and much more. Lutheran World Relief
Founded by Lutherans in the United States at the end of World War II, grounded in Lutheran theology and building on decades of experience, Lutheran World Relief tackles global poverty by helping people adapt to the challenges that threaten their livelihoods and well-being. Lutheran World Relief provides aid in emergencies and helps families restore their lives. They partner with communities to build and grow rural economies. They break the cycle of poverty, so families and communities can thrive. |
Mosaic
For 100 years, Mosaic has provided life changing, deeply meaningful ministry to persons who struggle with intellectual difficulties. Through out partnership with the Southeastern Iowa Synod of the ELCA, our annual Angel Tree project, direct gifts and volunteer opportunities, we support Mosaic as they do the work of Christ in the world. |
Scout Troop 188
In Scouting, boys and girls start with their best right now selves and grow into their very best future selves. It’s fun, hands-on learning and achievement that puts kids in the middle of the action and prepares them for today – and for life. Holy Trinity is the Charter Organization for Troop 188. Southeastern Iowa Synod
The Southeastern Iowa Synod of the ELCA is a network of congregations and ministry partners who are called to share God’s love in Jesus Christ. The Southeastern Iowa Synod is comprised of 135 congregations in 38 counties in the southeastern part of the state. The synod is home to several of Iowa’s population centers, including the Des Moines metro area, Ames, Cedar Rapids, Davenport and Iowa City, as well as small cities such as Marshalltown, Clinton, Muscatine, Ottumwa, and Burlington. Congregations range from remote country parishes, rural settings, and large urban churches. Together we are called to share the good news of Jesus Christ, walk together with the people of our congregations and equip, nurture and serve our communities and the world. |
