Giving in Generosity
Thanks be to God for the generosity of members and friends of HTLC! Through your giving we are bound together in the mission to Share God’s Love in our community and world. Without your offerings, Christ would be less present in this community and around the world.
What does it look like to Share God’s Love? First, it’s happens when the lights are on: Community groups meet in space we provide; Pause Groups gather to study God’s Word and share in fellowship; Church school and confirmation classes learn the story that makes them who they are; people gather to worship around God’s grace received in worship through Word and sacrament; the food pantry serves those in need and the homeless find welcome and shelter here.
Sharing God’s Love also happens outside the building when the lights are off: Quilts and kits are sent to those that desperately need them through Lutheran World Relief; resources make their way around the world to support refugees and the homeless in Central Iowa and feed the starving in South Sudan… and much more.
Gifts to our Open Arms Campaign have funded a new sanctuary roof, and preparations for sanctuary improvements and new bathrooms are underway. We are also tithing to our mission partners, Mosaic, the ELCA World Hunger Appeal, the ELCA Fund for Leadership and a new congregation at the Anamosa Correctional Facility.
As long as there is brokenness in the world we are called to Share God’s Love. Thank you for your loving gifts.
